A fresh take on client appreciation from My Take Home Chef
As the year comes to a close, businesses everywhere are looking for thoughtful ways to show gratitude. At My Take Home Chef, we’ve seen firsthand how the most memorable client appreciation gifts aren’t items at all — they’re experiences that bring people together.
A Unique Way to Say “Thank You”
This month, one of our Calgary clients wanted to surprise his own clients with something different — a way to express appreciation that felt personal, meaningful, and unforgettable.
Instead of another branded gift box or bottle of wine, he chose a virtual cooking class experience. Each guest received a chef-curated ingredient basket, beautifully packaged and delivered to their door, complete with a hand-selected bottle of William Fèvre Chablis 2023.
Cooking, Connection, and a Little Chablis
When class began, we gathered online — ingredients in hand, wine poured — ready to cook together.
On the menu: Seared Pear & Stracciatella Crostini.
This elegant dish featured handmade Stracciatella, warm seared pears, crisp sage, a drizzle of hot honey, and bright lemon zest on toasted ciabatta. The Chablis pairing was spot on — its bright acidity and chalky minerality cut through the creamy cheese while echoing the citrus and pear.
But beyond the food and wine, what stood out was the energy: laughter, connection, and genuine enjoyment. For an hour, everyone paused their busy schedules to share an experience. It felt like being at the same table, even from different kitchens.
Why Experiences Create Stronger Connections
A well-planned client appreciation experience does more than fill a calendar spot — it builds loyalty, warmth, and lasting memories. Cooking together offers a sense of collaboration and creativity that’s hard to replicate with traditional gifts. It encourages conversation, teamwork, and connection — the very things that strengthen relationships.
For professionals and businesses, it’s an opportunity to stand out. A virtual cooking class or chef-hosted event transforms a thank-you into something personal — an experience clients talk about long after the evening ends.

The Perfect End-of-Year Gift
This event was a beautiful reminder that appreciation doesn’t need to be complicated. Whether in person or online, food has a way of connecting people and creating memories that linger long after the last bite.
✨ The best gifts don’t fit in a box — they’re the moments we share.
